SELF RESCUE CLINIC 2.0

This clinic will expand on the skills covered in our initial self rescue clinics. We will be covering self rescue techniques that focus on rescue from above, including counter weighted rappels, assisted hoist, and mechanical hoist. These are skills that would apply to scenarios such as crevasse terrain, top belay, and multi pitch climbing.

COST
$45 for active AAC Members and $55 for non-members. 
Payment will be taken the day of the event in either cash or credit 
card.

You must include: Name, Phone Number, Email, AAC member number or specify non-member, and previous self rescue experience.

CURRICULUM
Transition from belay to counterweighted rapels
Assisted hoist
Mechanical hoist  

QUALIFICATIONS
Due to the nature of this class you need a certain knowledge base prior to this type of clinic, including:
1.Previous self rescue clinic experience with the AAC, or 
competency in ascending, belay takeover, and assisted rappels.
2. Lead climb experience and outdoor climbing experience.
3. Experience with top belay using an ATC and/or GriGri

GEAR
You will need your own gear in order to participate in the class. Plan to be outside the majority of the day unless there is heavy rain.
Helmet: you can rent one for Peabody’s if needed
Harness
Two 5-7mm 60" cordellette (to be used for prussiks)
One 7-8mm cordelette ~15 feet. (ie anchor building cordellette)  
One 48 inch nylon runner/sling
Four locking carabiners
ATC BD guide or Petzl Reverso
Petzl Tibloc or Ascenders (Optional)
Gri-Gri or similar assisted belay device (Optional)
Pulley and/or MicroTraxion (Optional)
