This clinic will teach you how to build climbing anchors in scenarios typically experienced in Midwestern climbing destinations.
COST
$45 for active AAC Members and $55 for non-members.
Payment will be taken the day of the event in either cash or credit
card.

CURRICULUM
Anchor fundamentals (SERENE)
Constructing anchors using bolts
Constructing anchors using trees and other natural protection
Intro to building anchors using cams and nuts
QUALIFICAITONS
Due to the nature of this class you need a certain knowledge base prior to this type of clinic, including:
1. Familiarity with basic climbing techniques including belaying and knots, such as figure 8.
2. Outdoor climbing experience or plans to venture outside.
GEAR
You will need your own gear in order to participate in the class. Plan to be outside the majority of the day unless there is heavy rain.
Helmet: you can rent one for Peabody’s if needed
Harness
One 7-8mm cordelette ~15 feet. (ie anchor building cordellette)
Two 48 inch nylon runner/sling
Two locking carabiners
Two non-locking carabiners
Two quickdraws
ATC belay device
Webbing (optional)
