INSTRUCTORS: ANGELA LIMBACH AND LAUREN SHARTELL

BIOS:

Angela Limbach:

Angela is a Wisconsin native and current member of the US Ice Climbing Team, who will be competing in her fourth Ice Climbing World Cup season this year. She loves representing her country at world cups, but was most proud to represent midwest ice climbers at the Ouray Mixed Competition, taking home the silver medal in 2021 and bronze recently in 2023.  Although she competes around the country and abroad, and has traveled to climb ice in the American west and Canadian Rockies, her roots in ice climbing remain in the midwest. She is passionate about teaching people to climb in any style or medium they choose and her goal is to always give back the kindness, mentorship, and expertise that has been shown to her in all facets of her climbing career.

Lauren Shartell:

Lauren is a Michigan native originally from Wyandotte and has been living in Rifle Colorado for almost a decade. She is a member of the USA Ice Climbing Team and has placed highly on the National and International competition platforms in both technical and speed climbing. She has also climbed many technical mixed climbs spanning from Italy to New Zealand to the Canadian Rockies holding several first women’s ascents at high technical mixed ice and rock climbing grades. Her enthusiasm for the sport, consistency, and experience in the mountains has gained her recognition over the years and her ability to share this with others is her gift back to the community.
