INTRO TO ICE CLIMBING AT PICTURED ROCKS
We are doing 3 two-day trips at Pictured Rocks. The intro will cover everything one needs to know to ice climb at Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. Lessons can be semi-customizable depending on your climbing goals/objectives.

Monday, Feb 22 - Tuesday, Feb 23

COST: $300/person

Each two day trip can accommodate 4-5 people to keep the guide-climber ratio small. We'll have two guides for each group.

WE WILL COVER
Ice climbing movement, anchor systems, top and bottom managed sites, lead climbing fundamentals with a focus on independent climbing at Pictured Rocks. We'll also get in lots of climbing!

Ideally, participants should have some ice climbing experience and their own equipment, provide their own transportation, food and lodging.

EQUIPMENT LIST
Rentals available for ice climbing equipment if needed

  • Mountaineering boots, warm. Potential for arctic temps

  • Belay parka down jacket

  • Wind proof shell jacket and pants

  • Mittens/Gloves: two pair

  • Fleece second layer

  • Crampons

  • Ice Axes

  • Helmet

  • Harness

  • Caribiners: 2 locking, 2 non locking

  • 24-inch sling/runner (nylon pref)

  • 16 foot cordalette (6mil cord)

  • Food/water for the day

  • Backpack

  • Headlamp
