CURRICULUM:

This clinic focuses on movement efficiency on tools using artificial holds to build endurance, movement patterns, and a better understanding of how to move around your tools.

INSTRUCTOR: Marcus Garcia

BIO: Marcus is an all-around climber with over 28 years of experience. He has established over 200 new routes, including everything from traditional, sport, and mixed climbing. His biggest accomplishment and legacy, however, is not now hard he can push himself, but what he can pass on to the next generation of climbers as a coach and mentor. When not teaching clinics, Marcus can be found in Durango, CO at his climbing gym, running peaks, swinging tools, working on photography skills or just chilling at home.

QUALIFICATIONS
This clinic is designed for individuals who are comfortable with a top rope belay system and also have some experience ice climbing. No prior drytooling or mixed climbing experience is required.

GEAR
You will need your own gear in order to participate in the clinic. As this clinic coincides with Peabody Ice Fest, very limited gear will be available to rent onsite. Plan to be outside the majority of the clinic so please dress appropriately (winter jacket, snow pants, hats, gloves, etc). The following gear is required: Helmet, Harness, ATC, Locking carabiner, Ice Tools, Crampons, Mountaineering Boots.
