CURRICULUM:

THIS CLINIC IS GEARED TOWARD THOSE NEW AND/OR INTERESTED IN LEAD CLIMBING ON ICE AND HAVE BEEN CLIMBING A SEASON OR TWO.

PARTICIPANTS WILL BE WORKING ON AND GETTING FEEDBACK FROM AN INSTRUCTOR FOR:


Ice Climbing and lead climbing fundamentals
Ice Screws and V-threads
Advanced ice climbing techniques

QUALIFICATIONS
Due to the nature of this class you need a certain knowledge base prior to this type of clinic.
Must be comfortable with a top rope belay system and also have experience ice climbing steep ice.

GEAR
You will need your own gear in order to participate in the class. Ice Climbing specific gear (Ice Tools, Crampons, and Mountaineering Boots) can be rented from us ($20). If you need to rent please reserve prior to the event to assure we have gear for you and show up 30 minutes prior to get outfitted. Plan to be outside the majority of the day so please dress appropriately (winter jacket, snow pants, hats, gloves, etc).

WEATHER
Due to the nature of ice climbing, the clinic weather dependent. If case of unsafe conditions, the event will be canceled at least two days prior.

TIME:

Due to the need for exclusive use of the tower, this clinic starts at 7AM and goes past 10AM when we open for general hours. Participants are welcome to stay and continue climbing after the clinic.
